Development Manager Location: NYC- area preferred

Full-time position (40 hrs/week)

Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is seeking a full time Development Manager who will expand and oversee all development systems, write grant proposals and reports, and manage stewardship and communication with donors. This is an opportunity to join a small, committed team at the ground floor, work in close partnership with the Founder & CEO to significantly grow revenue, and support the day-to-day work of a bold new organization.

We focus on three main areas of work: Bold political action to advance comprehensive climate policy and ensure a just transition away from fossil fuels, spiritual adaptation that helps people confront the reality of the climate crisis and grapple with the deep spiritual and existential questions it raises, and movement-building.

Responsibilities

• Expand and maintain comprehensive development systems including a constituent relationship management database (CRM); generate and manage donor reports;  track donor touchpoints and activities; maintain reporting calendar; and track deliverables for foundation grants.
• Manage grants from start to finish, including grant research, writing, application submission, and reporting.  
• Lead wraparound donor management  strategy including solicitations, stewardship, and cultivation efforts in partnership with Founder & CEO.
• Expand and maintain a robust donor pipeline; identify donor prospects; research individuals and foundations; and provide background for funder and donor meetings.
• Develop a donor communication strategy that includes gift acknowledgement and updates on Dayenu’s activities and the development and distribution of relevant collateral (e.g. annual report).  Maintain donor relations through regular, relevant communications and stewardship.
• Collaborate with Dayenu team on digital fundraising.
• Assist with revenue forecasting and budget projections.  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of previous development experience, 5+ years preferred, and track record of excellence
• Direct experience proactively managing all aspects of development operations including: grant tracking and reporting and moves management at all levels, including donor cultivation and stewardship
• Experience and facility with CRMs
• Proven success in grant proposal and report writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High emotional intelligence and strong people skills
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and good time management
• Organized with a keen attention to detail
• Committed to Dayenu’s mission and growing a Jewish climate movement
• Committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice
• Knowledge of and experience working in/with the Jewish community and/or social justice movements strongly preferred
• Ability to  travel and work on nights and weekends on occasion
• Excited to work closely with a small, spirited team building a start-up organization

Compensation
This position is full time, and the annual salary is $65,000-75,000 commensurate with experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including vacation and sick days, healthcare, national and Jewish holidays, and more.
